The development, deployment and acceptance of a very large aircraft structure inspection system based on Ultrasonic C-scan technique for the production inspection of the composite material based aircraft components. The software developed by the nominee reduces the data analysis time by 80% and improves reproducibility in damage/defect characterization by more than 50% over the current technologies. The software uses the proprietary algorithms to implement the acceptance standards with minimal interface with the operator and provides a quantitative and automated evaluation of the C-scan data sets. This product has been accepted by the regulatory bodies and has been implemented in the production line.
